Italy blocks personal cigarette imports

In letters issued to several online cigarette companies whose packages of cigarettes were stopped by customs, the Italian customs and mail office have declared that from now on no personal imports are allowed.

Further more the letter states that individuals who will be receiving these packages will be fined large sums of money as an example and a warning for others. That the cigarettes confiscated will be destroyed and no notices to the shipping company will be issued.

In response to this letter many online cigarettes retailers positioned outside Italy have quit shipping cigarettes to Italian customers, giving another blow to these companies income especially due to the fact that the Italian market was considered one of the bigest in the online cigarette industry..
